Collages from the Study of Thorns series take an interest in the natural world further into ecology. As the title suggests these works attempt to remain in the improvisational/observational manner of a sketch and contemplate the thorn’s function to protect a plant from harm. Composed entirely of repurposed remnants from other works, these collages connect to an interest in how birds and other creatures gather from their surroundings and reflects on ways in which we can contribute to greater biodiversity.
